| D.C. Divas vs Philadelphia Firebirds D.C. DIVAS WIN 42-0 OVER PHILADELPHIA The D.C. Divas finished 8-0 to record their 5th perfect regular season in 9 years with a convincing victory over the visiting Philadelphia Firebirds. RB Claudia Hogan put the Divas up 6-0 on the second play of the game with a 3 yard run. DB Vickie Lucas picked off a pass on the next drive which gave the Divas offense a chance for their longest scoring drive of the night of just 4 plays. WR Nikki Williams’ second catch of the drive ended with a 6 yard TD pass from QB Allyson Hamlin to make it 13-0. The Divas would score on their first 3 offensive possessions. RB Okiima Pickett continued her outstanding season with a 3 yard touchdown to make it 20-0 Divas. DB Vickie Lucas turned the next Firebirds punt in to a 57 yard touchdown thriller of a return and the Divas lead 26-0. DB Alison Fischer took the snap and in for the 2 point conversion and the Divas lead 28-0 at the end of the first quarter. RB Okiima Pickett recorded her second touchdown from 2 yards out to give the Divas a 35-0 advantage in a 3 play Divas drive to start the 2nd quarter. The Divas defense pitched a shutout for the fourth game this season. DE Jay Hodge was in the Philadelphia backfield all night. Her forced fumble was recovered by DT Noa Bruckenthal and lead to the Divas next score. WR Nikki Williams pulled in her second TD of the night on the next play from scrimmage. A one-play drive with a 20 yard tipped pass for a touchdown and it was 42-0 Divas. QB Tracy Cabugao hit TE Meg Stensrud for 15 yards and her first career touchdown to give the Divas a 49-0 lead at the half. The Divas started the second half with a bang when RB Tiffany Matthews took the first handoff and then spun out of multiple tackles on her 50 yard touchdown to make it 56-0. RB Okiima Pickett picked up her third rushing touchdown on the next possession with a 20 yard run and the Divas lead 63-0. The Divas secured their 6th division title in 7 years with a total team effort. “I want to thank our owner and coaching staff and give the credit to the players” said Head Coach Keith Howard.
