Diva Nation:

SO much has happened this off-season I don’t know where to begin. Making the most noise, in the world of women’s football, has been our migration to the IWFL (Independent Women’s Football League) from the NWFA. Through months of discussion it was decided that this was the best move for the future of our organization. As we look forward to new challenges, from a new league, we think fondly of old friends and rivalries. They will be missed. Unlike similar migrations or transitions to a different league we have been very fortunate to keep our entire team, coaching staff, and front office completely intact.

The Divas have also changed off-season workout facilities. The Capital Sports Complex is everything we have been looking for. State of the art media facilities, weight room, basketball courts for training, Sauna, showers; I mean the list goes on and on. The staff is first rate and they have made us feel at home from the very first day. Currently, the rookies that survived the tryout process are working out there and have found it to suit our needs perfectly. The veterans have enjoyed some well deserved rest since the championship, and will be joining the rookies next week to begin preparation for the 2007 IWFL season.

Last and certainly not least, my wife and I welcomed our first born home in late November. His name is Payton Mitchell Cooper and he is my pride and joy. Born a healthy 8lbs 9ounces and 21 inches, we thank God he is in our lives and for his continued good health. We also want to say thank you to all of our family and friends for their wonderful prayers, and continuous support.

Life certainly is magnificent. Having a child has added so much JOY to an already abundantly enriched life. It feels undeserved that one person can have and experience so many truly wonderful things. As a husband, son, brother, coach, and now, father, my path through life has been extraordinary. I feel SO fortunate to enjoy loving friends/teammates, great family, a devoted and caring partner, and now the awesome responsibility of parenthood. I cherish them all and would not trade a single moment for anything in the world. I am certain there is not one single person, on God’s green earth, that feels more blessed.

Sincerely,

Ezra M. Cooper Jr., Head Coach
