From the Coach... 05/29/07

Head Coach Ezra Cooper

Diva Nation:

Playing the best women's football teams in the country was the reason the switch to the IWFL was appealing to me. The prospect of playing the Detroit Demolition during the regular season never crossed my mind. At best my hope was to see them sometime during the playoffs. Once the final schedule was released, it is hard to describe how I felt. To see them there on our regular game schedule, certainly took our pre-season up a notch. I know that the first thing I did was walk over to our team calendar, got out my red fine point sharpie, and circled June 2, 2007.

To say this game is important to both teams is an understatement. Having one loss going into the IWFL playoffs changes a lot of your plans for July. We understand that. I know that Coach Blankenship and his staff understand it too. I know that there aren't words on paper or on radio that will be able to contain or accurately describe this one. This is the definition of CANT MISS women's football. Knowing both organizations, both coaching staffs, and the talent level on each side of the ball, June 2 2007 is going to a GREAT DAY for IWFL fans everywhere. And I get to have a front row seat. See you Saturday.

Sincerely,

Ezra M. Cooper Jr., Head Coach
