D.C. Divas Lose to the Baltimore Burn

In a game that had major playoff implications, the D.C. Divas traveled to Baltimore for the third out of a four game showdown where the winner put themselves in the drivers seat for a playoff position.

The game started as usual with both defenses controlling the game until a bad snap by the Burn on a punt puts the D.C. Divas in good field position. The D.C. Divas drive the ball on the ground for the first score of the game by Donna Wilkinson to make the score 6-0. The score remained 6-0 until the second half.

The D.C. Divas in turn have a bad snap on a punt to give the Burn good field position. #47 for the Burn catches two key passes, one for a first down and another for the touchdown, to tie up the game 6-6. The game remains a stalemate until the middle of the fourth when #47 catches another pass down the sideline for the second Burn touchdown to make it 12-6.

The D.C. Divas were not able to get the ball down the field for an additional score and so it ended 12-6.

The D.C. Divas MVP for offense was Donna Wilkinson and Tessa Nelson for defense.

The D.C. Divas have their first bye week this weekend to rest. The D.C. Divas travel to Tennessee on June 15th to take on the Tennessee Venom. The D.C. Divas will host the Baltimore Burn for the final game of the regular season at 7pm at Eastern H.S. on June 22nd. The D.C. Divas must win the remaining games to stay in the playoff hunt.
