D.C. DIVAS vs the Baltimore Burn

The D.C. Divas welcome the Baltimore Burn to Eastern H.S. on June 22nd, 7pm. The D.C. Divas, 5-2, are in a fierce battle with the Burn, 6-1, for the Mid Atlantic Division Championship of the NWFL. The D.C. Divas and Burn are so closely matched that the D.C. Divas have lost to the Burn 2-6 and 6-12. Not to be outdone, by the Burn, the D.C. Divas beat the Burn 7-6, giving the Burn their only loss.

This weekend’s game is predicted to be just as intense as the previous meeting since a trip to the NWFL play-offs rides on this game.

Throughout the league this weekend, the first and second place teams will be playing in each of the five divisions. Be sure to check the NWFL website for all of the current standings.

The play-offs are scheduled for July 6th and July 13th. The Championship game will be July 27th in Pittsburgh, PA.

The National Women's Football League has 21 teams playing in 5 divisions. The NWFL has signed up 4 teams for 2003. The league website, www.nwflcentral.com receives almost 2 million hits per month.
