PRESS RELEASE D.C. Divas Extinguish the Burn The D.C. DIVAS raised their record to 2-0 with an impressive 24-0 win in their home opener over their archrival the Baltimore Burn. These two teams engaged in 4 defensive struggles a year ago, but the DIVAS defense dominated tonight and recored their 2nd shutout of the season.The DIVAS offense line once again lead the way for a rushing attack that went over the 300 yd mark for the second week in a row.Head Coach Ezra Cooper summed it up "We ran thru, around and over them. I was very pleased with our power running game". Donna Wilkinson ran for 2 touchdowns and 202 yds with a team record 36 carries " I run hard, we don't give up and we don't stop, my offensive line did one helluva' job" said Wilkinson. Head Coach Cooper added "I think she's the best back in the league" The DIVAS ground game has amassed just over 600 yards rushing in the teams two victories. The DIVAS have a bye week before returning to Eastern High School on Saturday May 3rd when they take on the Pittsburgh Passion at 7pm. Tickets are $12 and kids under 6 are free.
