PRESS RELEASE D.C. DIVAS EXACT REVENGE ON ROANOKE The defending Mid-Atlantic Division champion D.C. Divas started their 2004 season with a 70-0 trouncing of the visiting Roanoke Revenge. The D.C. Divas had 7 different players score combined with a defense that allowed less than 100 yards. This produced a victory for the team and their 1,104 rabid fans. The D.C. Divas' offense ran up 451 total yards with 283 coming on the ground. 2003 Offensive Team MVP Donna "the Animal" Wilkinson had 10 carries for 100 yards and 2 touchdowns. RB's Stacey Michael and Adrienne Lewis and WR Natalie Randolph each rushed for touchdowns. Quarterbacks Allyson Hamlin and Tara Watanathai were a combined 6 of 13 for 168 yards and 3 touchdowns. Lilah "LBoogie" Blackstone added a 73-yard punt return to help give the D.C. Divas their largest margin of victory in team history. "Defensively, I thought we were outstanding," said Head Coach Ezra Cooper. "Our new style of attacking will be a challenge for the teams we face this year. On the offensive side of the ball, our team speed and play of our quarterbacks will give us a chance to score a lot of points." The D.C. Divas will have bye week for Easter and then travel to Baltimore to face their archrival the Burn on April 17th. Team practices are open to the media this week. Offense practices on Tuesday, Defense on Wednesday, and the entire team takes the field on Thursday. All practices are at 7:30pm at Landover Hills Rec Park.
