D.C. DIVAS TELL THE BURN YOU'RE NOT ON FIRE;
YOU'RE ALL FIRED !!!

Just like the end of an episode of the Donald Trump's "The Apprentice," the Mid-Atlantic Division defending champion D.C. Divas dismissed their arch rival the Baltimore Burn in a hard fought 26-14 battle. The D.C. Divas took a 6-0 lead on Lilah "LBoogie" Blackstone's 50-yard punt return, and then extended the lead to 12-0 on Donna "The Animal" Wilkinson's 32-yard touchdown scamper. Wilkinson finished the game with 133 yards on 18 carries. Blackstone continued her big play ways for the second week in a row by adding a 5-yard touchdown on a reverse play late in the game, which helped seal the victory. Blackstone, known as "LBoogie" because of her speed, has 3 touchdowns in the D.C. Divas' two victories. Quarterback Allyson Hamlin was her usual steady self going 5-of-10 for 160 yards and one touchdown to TE T.Q. Billups. The D.C. Divas' offense went over the 400-yard mark for the second game in a row (415 yards).

The D.C. Divas' defense came up with two big interceptions by Cornerback Alison Fischer and Safety Raynette Savoy to help seal the victory. Savoy was playing in her first game against her old team the Burn and summed up the victory by saying, "I'm glad it's over. It feels good to leave with the win." Savoy is one of 7 ex-Burn players to leave their former team and join the D.C. Divas for the 2004 campaign. The D.C. Divas have their second bye week of the season next week before traveling to Erie on May 1st.

Team practices are open to the media this week. Offense practices on Tuesday, Defense on Wednesday, and the entire team takes the field on Thursday. All practices are at 7:30pm at Landover Hills Rec Park.
