PRESS RELEASE D.C. DIVAS MAGICAL SEASON CONTINUES It's not an Illusion; D.C. Divas down Erie 46-0 to stay undefeated. The D.C. Divas’ defense continued their impressive stance by registering their third shutout in four games. In two seasons of play, the Illusion have yet to score in four games against the Divas’ defense. As part of a five interception defensive day, Safety Raynette Savoy and Linebacker Debbie Frye both returned interceptions for touchdowns. "Last week we had nine drops that could of been interceptions," said Raynette Savoy after her 50-yard return for a score. "We knew as a defense we had to step up and, as we like to say in the secondary, GET BIG." The D.C. Divas held the Illusion to less than 100 yards and just four first downs. The entire defense was voted MVP on defense. The D.C. Divas’ offense has outscored opponents 176 to 14 in four games this year. The rushing attack rang up 256 yards on the ground with Donna Wilkinson accounting for 118 of them and a touchdown. Monica Livingston, Tara Kallal and Adrienne Lewis rounded out the D.C. Divas’ touchdown rushing attack. Quarterback Allyson Hamlin added 123 yards on 9-of-19 passing. And for the second consecutive week, the offensive line was voted MVP on offense. The D.C. Divas will head to Roanoke next Saturday May 15th to take on the Revenge. D.C. Divas’ practices are open this week to the media.
