FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE VICKIE LUCAS HONORED WITH POSEY AWARD Landover, MD -January 20, 2006 – Vickie Lucas is only the third women in the 68 year history of the Pigskin Club of Washington, DC, to be honored with the James Posey award of professional excellence. Vickie joins teammates Donna Wilkinson and Allyson Hamlin and such NFL greats as Bruce Smith, Shannon Sharpe and Champ Bailey, as a honored recipient. Vickie helped lead a Divas defense that produced 7 shutouts in 10 games and surrendered a league low 56 points. One of the highlights of the evening featured Baltimore Raven Adalius Thomas sending a text message to teammate Deion Sanders saying he had met the "real Primetime" (Vickie's nickname). We are still waiting on Deion's reply. In the spring of 2001, the D.C. Divas began its women’s tackle football debut as a team in the National Women’s Football Association (NWFA). The D.C. Divas players are women from all types of professions (doctors, lawyers, police officers, teachers, engineers, mechanics, etc.) with various athletic backgrounds (rugby players, flag football players, divers, swimmers, runners, volleyball players, etc.). ### For
