Two D.C. Divas Honored by Pigskin Club of Washington, D.C. Football stars from the high school ranks to the Hall
of Fame were present at the Capitol Hilton on Friday January 19th for
the 69th Annual Pigskin Club of Washington, D.C. award ceremony. Among the Honorees were D.C Divas Rachelle Pecovsky and
Ivy Tillman who each received the James B. Posey Award for professional
excellence. Ivy was the Defensive player of the year after leading the
Divas in tackles while leading a unit that posted 8 shutouts in 11 games.
Rachelle Pecovsky finished her 7th season of professional football, but
her first with the Divas as the Offensive Player of the year. Rachelle
rushed for 186 yards in the Championship game and totaled a new Divas
regular season record with 1,087 yards in 8 games. The D.C. Divas were also given a special recognition
award as well for bringing a championship back to the Washington, D.C.
area. Owner Paul Hamlin, Head Coach Ezra Cooper and General Manager Rich
Daniel were on hand to except the award from Pig skin club President William
Chesley. The Divas were first recognized by the club in 2003 when Donna
Wilkinson won the first Posey award, followed by Allyson Hamlin in 2004
and Vickie Lucas in 2005. ### For
