TITLE CHASE: D.C DIVAS POISED FOR 2ND STRAIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP RUN

Washington,DC—Another perfect regular season has the defending National Champion D.C. Divas (8-0) on the brink of history: back-to-back titles, in two completely different leagues. The Mid-Atlantic Division Champion Divas will begin the IWFL Playoffs this Saturday, July 14th, 2007, against the South-Atlantic Division Champion Atlanta Xplosion. The winner will face either the New York Sharks or the Manchester Freedom in the IWFL Eastern Conference Championship Game on July 28th, 2007. The Independent Women's Football League Title Game is set for August 11th, 2007.

Atlanta also finished the regular season without a loss. In order to determine home field advantage for this pivotal divisional playoff game, the IWFL had to enact a seldom-used tiebreaker formula: fewest opposing points allowed. The Divas and Xplosion did not meet in the regular season.

"Only the teams that are poised and grounded will make it through," said Head Coach Ezra Cooper of the difficult playoff schedule. "We cannot let up for one second."

In advance of each playoff game the Divas practice at Sasser Field, 14201 School Lane, Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Sasser Field is adjacent to the P.G. County Board of Education Building.

Practice Schedule: Tuesday, July 10th, 2007, 7:30pm-9:30pm

The Divas depart for Atlanta on Thursday, July 12th, 2007.
