Harrisburg, PA – The D.C. Divas finally broke through on the road.

The Divas started the season with two straight road losses, but the Divas righted the ship in Pennsylvania, defeating the Central PA Vipers by a 43-0 count. The Divas (2-2) battled their way back to .500 and had their highest offensive output of the year.

Divas quarterback Allyson Hamlin tossed two touchdown passes, opening the scoring with a 38-yard toss to wide receiver Nikki Williams for a 6-0 lead. Rachelle Pecovsky rushed for the two-point conversion, putting the Divas ahead, 8-0. After a rushing touchdown extended the lead to 16-0, Hamlin struck again, tossing a 34-yard scoring strike that gave the Divas a 23-0 advantage.

The Divas used a strong rushing attack to put the game well out of reach. The Divas notched three more rushing touchdowns, two by star running back Okiima Pickett. Pickett’s first rushing score of the game was a 20-yard dash that put the Divas ahead, 36-0. Pickett’s second rushing touchdown of the contest, a 43-yard jaunt to the end zone, provided the final margin in the Divas’ 43-0 victory.

All of that offense was more than enough to defeat the Vipers (0-5), who have been unable to tally a point so far this season. The Divas will return to action next Saturday at home, when the Vipers travel to D.C. for a rematch.
