New York, NY – Kenyetta Grigsby ended the regular season with the same dominating play she started it with.

Grigsby rushed for 201 yards – the second time she topped 200 yards this season – and paced the D.C. Divas to a 38-16 victory over the New York Sharks. Grigsby bookended the 2011 regular season with 200-yard rushing performances after rushing for a team-record 243 yards in the Divas’ season-opening win over the Boston Militia.

The Divas (7-1) displayed a versatile offense and got rushing touchdowns from Grigsby, Okiima Pickett, and Stephanie Walker. Quarterback Allyson Hamlin added two touchdowns through the air.

Defensively, Tea Tormanen led the Divas with seven tackles, while Tamyra Lathon, Nikia Green, and Charmaine Chase contributed five apiece. Chase also registered an interception and returned it 20 yards.

The victory over the New York Sharks (5-3) secures home field advantage for the Divas in the first round of the playoffs, which begin next Saturday. The Divas will face a stiff test, however, as the defending national champion Boston Militia will be the Divas’ opponent in their playoff opener. The Militia are the only team to defeat the 7-1 Divas so far this season.
