New York, NY – The D.C. Divas visited Brooklyn, New York, and came away with a hard-fought, 41-13 win against one of the great franchises in women’s football, the New York Sharks.

The Divas (3-1) did most of their damage through the air. Allyson Hamlin tied her career-high with five touchdown passes on a day when she completed 14 of 20 passes for 182 yards. Kenyetta Grigsby started the scoring with a 17-yard rushing touchdown on the opening drive before the Divas went to work through the air. Ashley Whisonant caught three touchdown passes from Hamlin, as the Divas “Air Squad” wide receiving corps combined for 14 receptions.

The Sharks (2-3) put together several nice drives but were often turned away before they reached the end zone. The Divas defense was continually challenged by New York quarterback Karen Mulligan but came away with four interceptions to help thwart the Sharks’ scoring drives. Trigger McNair, Kim Kennedy, and Callie Brownson helped seal the victory with interceptions.

The Divas next travel to Boston on May 19 for a 6 PM tilt with the Militia.
