D.C. Divas Accept Forfeit Victory from Carolina Phoenix
DC 1, Carolina 0

Greensboro, NC – The D.C. Divas accepted a forfeit victory from the Carolina Phoenix Saturday, marking their fourth straight win of the 2018 season.
The Divas (5-2) have won 131 games in franchise history, but this is just their fifth victory by forfeit. The Philadelphia Firebirds gave the D.C. Divas their first forfeit victory back in 2010, and the Central Maryland Seahawks forfeited to the Divas three times from 2014-2015.
The Phoenix (0-7) have reached the end of a challenging season for the Southeastern powerhouse. Coming into this year, the Carolina Phoenix had compiled an all-time record of 81-20 since being founded in 2007. But they had not yet secured a win in 2018 heading into their final game of the season, and with low roster numbers, the Phoenix decided to end their season early and forfeit for the first time in their 12-year franchise history.
The D.C. Divas will host their final regular season game next Saturday against the New York Sharks, as they battle for home field advantage throughout the upcoming Women’s Football Alliance (WFA) playoffs.
