2007 Pigskin Club Posey Award
Wide receiver Nikki Williams and defensive back Kathryn Hemlock were recently named the winners of the 2007 Posey Award. It marks the fifth consecutive season in which a Divas player has won the Posey Award. Past winners of the award include Donna Wilkinson, Allyson Hamlin, Vickie Lucas, Rachelle Pecovsky, and Ivy Tillman.
Nikki Williams set the all-time career franchise record for receptions and receiving touchdowns in 2007. She has served as a team captain the last two seasons and has been voted as a league All-American all four years in which the Divas’ league has selected players for such honors.
Kathryn Hemlock led the Divas in interceptions in each of the past four seasons. She has set franchise records by returning six interceptions for touchdowns and scoring eight defensive touchdowns overall in the past three years. Hemlock was named a first team All-American for the first time in 2007, one of a record 12 Divas named All-American this year.
The Pigskin Club of Washington, D.C., is in its 70th year of promoting equality and excellence in sports. Williams and Hemlock accepted the Posey Award at the annual Pigskin Club awards banquet in downtown D.C.
