Coach Jim Tench Bio

Coach Jim Tench played on the offensive line for Suitland High School and Montgomery College before getting into coaching, and he built a long and illustrious coaching career before joining the Divas in 2003. Coach Tench came to the Divas with 23 years of high school and college coaching experience, most recently as the defensive line coach for eight seasons with his alma mater, Montgomery College.

When Montgomery College shut down their football program, Coach Tench went in search of his next challenge, and he found it as the offensive line coach of the Divas. Tench coached for two seasons with the Divas, and in 2004, he led an effort to recruit a group of former Montgomery College coaches – nicknamed “The Band” – to join him as assistant coaches for the team. Jason White, Fred Stokes, and Vince Spigone joined Tench on the Divas’ coaching staff in 2004, helping lead the Divas to their first perfect 8-0 regular season in team history.
