Dr. Garry Ho Bio

Dr. Garry Ho is a physician with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine and additional credentialing in the management of concussions. Dr. Ho received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Santa Clara University and earned his medical degree from Georgetown University. He served as the Chief Academic Resident while completing his residency training at Virginia Commonwealth University and completed specialized fellowship training in Sports Medicine with Fairfax Family Practice; during that time, he worked closely with several professional and collegiate organizations, including the Washington Redskins, the Washington Glory, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and the Naval Academy in Annapolis.

Dr. Ho has served as a team physician for the Washington Bayhawks pro lacrosse team and is currently a team physician for the Potomac Nationals, the Single-A minor league affiliate of the Washington Nationals. He has also served as a team physician for athletic teams at George Mason University and Briar Woods High School, and he is the medical director of the Fairfax County Public School System’s Athletic Training Program. Dr. Ho regularly volunteers in the medical tent at major sporting events, such as the World Police and Fire Games, the Marine Corps Marathon, and the Army Ten-Miler. He has published several book chapters and journal articles and co-authored the book 100 Questions & Answers About Your Sports Injury with longtime D.C. Divas team doctor Dr. Thomas Howard.
