Who is your female sports idol?
|
Laila Ali and Florence Griffith Joyner. |
Who is your favorite NFL player?
Why?
|
Ben Roethlisberger…he is a star quarterback, but he will also do
whatever it takes to make sure the ball moves. Every season I watch him I see his
passion for the game. |
What is your favorite travel
location?
|
Florida. |
What is your favorite quote?
|
“Rome wasn’t built in a day.” |
How would you describe yourself in three
words?
|
Passionate, competitive, caring. |
What are your lifetime aspirations?
|
To become the best person I can be every day, and to learn and travel
as much as possible. I aspire to live, not just exist, in this world. |
What was the first sport you ever
played?
|
Basketball. |
How did you hear about women’s
football?
|
From a friend of mine who plays for the Divas. |
Why do you want to play women’s
football?
|
I want to play because I never had this option as a youth. When I
first tried out, I was so intimidated by the location and the experience of the other
girls. Once tryouts started, I already started to feel like part of the team. I want
other women and girls to know that they can play football and be taken seriously. I also
want more people to know that what we do is not flag football or lingerie football. |
What does it mean to you to be a D.C.
Diva?
|
It was only when I met the team members, coaches, and other women
trying out that I knew what it meant. Being a D.C. Diva means changing stereotypes,
working hard, and pushing through, no matter what. It mean supporting and protecting
your teammates. Lastly, it means sacrifice, because we must put away our egos for the
team and put in the time needed to be the best. |
