Jacquelyn Farmer Q&A

What is your favorite quote?
“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass…it’s learning to dance in the rain.”
What is your favorite sports memory?
Making the 2001 CIAA Volleyball All-Tournament team. Years of hard work all led to that one accomplishment.
Why do you want to play women’s football?
I missed competing. I have four kids and I watch them compete in the sports they play, and I realized I missed it. Now my children cheer for me like I cheer for them. They can actually see Mommy playing and competing. They are very proud of me. It was an opportunity to fight for something, to call something my own, to get back into shape, and to be a part of history…to be a part of something bigger than me.
What does it mean to you to be a D.C. Diva?
Being a Diva means representing my home and showing not just my sons, but my daughters, that if you put your mind to it, a woman can do anything a man can do. It means camaraderie, friendship, family, and taking everyone’s differences and uniting them to become one. “We fight!”
