Jenne Massie Q&A
Who was your childhood idol? Why?
| My dad…he is the coolest and smartest person I know and has used both his athleticism and intelligence to succeed in life. I’ve always wanted to be just like him, and he has played a huge role in the person I am today. |
Who is your biggest supporter?
| My mom…after seven years of watching her daughter getting banged up and injured playing tackle football, she still comes to every game and cheers and cringes the whole way through. |
Who is your female sports idol?
| Marion Jones…even though she’s had major controversy during the course of her career, she was a beast in both basketball and track. Marion Jones is one of the main reasons I dreamed of going to Chapel Hill. |
Who is your favorite NFL player? Why?
| Warren Sapp…my goal is to have as many sacks as Sapp when I hang up my cleats. |
How would you describe yourself in three words?
| Happy, aggressive, passionate. |
How did you get into women’s tackle football?
| My high school gym teacher introduced me to the quarterback of the Philadelphia Phoenix. From that moment, I knew when I was old enough for the league, I was going to play. |
Why do you play women’s tackle football?
| Because ever since I was little, I told everyone I knew that I was going to be the first girl in the NFL. |
