Jordyn Short Q&A

Who was your childhood idol? Why?
Muggsy Bogues…basketball was practically my life. I am short, so I was constantly being told that I was too short to play basketball. Muggsy proved that lacking height doesn’t mean you lack the skills.
Who is your biggest supporter?
My grandmother, for sure.
Who is your female sports idol?
Allie Quigley…she plays in the WNBA for the Chicago Sky. Look at her stats and read her bio. She epitomizes the idea of working to continue to improve your game. Every year, she comes back a better player.
What are your favorite hobbies or special interests?
I am addicted to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Xsport Fitness. I train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at least four times a week now, and I am at Xsport six days a week. I am a gym rat.
What is your favorite movie?
Love and Basketball.
What is your favorite TV show?
Chicago Med.
What is your favorite travel location?
Florida.
What is your favorite food?
Chicken tacos…I once ate them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a month straight!
What is your favorite book?
Outliers, by Malcolm Gladwell.

The Cab.
What is your favorite quote?
“I would rather live in a world where my life is surrounded by mystery than live in a world so small that my mind could comprehend it.” – Harry Emerson Fosdick
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Short, athletic, intuitive.
What are your lifetime aspirations?
To build a career around things I genuinely enjoy.
What was the first sport you ever played?
Basketball…I played from age 7 to age 17.
What is your favorite sports memory?
One summer, I was attending the Chicago Bulls/Chicago White Sox Academy summer camp for basketball. Jalen Rose came, and he was accompanied by news crews. He talked to us and signed autographs. When he was finished, we ran through shooting drills. As I was going through my drills, the news crew filmed it, and I was on the local news that evening. It was the coolest thing ever to me!
How did you hear about women’s football?
I actually randomly went to a game with some of my friends. I thought to myself, “That looks dope! I want to play.”
Why do you want to play women’s football?
I am very competitive, and I enjoy sports. I think this would be a dope way to fuel my competitive and athletic nature while having fun and meeting some cool people.
