LaTasha Holt Q&A
Who was your childhood idol? Why?
| My great-grandmother, hands down…she overcame so many obstacles and adversities in life yet still manages to take care of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her ability to be strong for us and for herself is admirable. |
Who is your biggest supporter?
| My lady, my boys – Ahmare, Elijah, and Asante – and my family! |
If you could have a conversation with anyone, dead or alive, who would you choose? Why?
| Malcolm X…I’ve always wanted to know the raw version of his story, not the watered-down version. I want to know everything he experienced. |
Who is your female sports idol?
| Anne Wolfe…she was a monster in the ring. The look in her eyes when she was in attack mode was so fierce. I always wanted to be a boxer, so I vicariously lived through her. |
Who is your favorite NFL player? Why?
| Demarcus Ware and Ray Lewis…they were predators and headhunters. How they zeroed in on their targets was exciting and powerful. I always wanted to hit like them! |
What is your favorite movie?
| Remember The Titans, because it’s about my high school. |
What is your favorite TV show?
| I don’t watch too much television, but when I do, it’s usually something about forensic science and murders on the ID channel. |
What is your favorite food?
| Mac and cheese! |
What is your favorite book?
| Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho, and Kindred, by Octavia Butler. |
How did you hear about women’s football?
| I have been following the Divas for years, and I finally decided I wanted to try out. |
Why do you want to play women’s football?
| To legally hit b—-es! |
What does it mean to you to be a D.C. Diva?
| Everything! So much pride and fight…all in! |
